You might think that Philis­tine cul­ture is an oxy­moron, but this muse­um show­cas­es the cul­ture of the ancient Philis­tine peo­ple as dis­cov­ered by archae­ol­o­gists. Ash­dod was one of the five main Philis­tine cities in the Bib­li­cal peri­od.
