Between Gozo and main­land Mal­ta lies the tiny tree­less island of Comi­no: an old smug­glers hide­out with lit­tle on it but a watch­tow­er and a pop­u­la­tion of just two. It’s pop­u­lar with kayak­ers and snorkellers, but its waters are busy and the Blue Lagoon (though just a change in sand colour) attracts thou­sands in peak sea­son. So, try pad­dling some­where that no one else goes.
