Description:
Nestled in California’s incredible Sequoia National Park is the Giant Forest, which was aptly named by famed mountaineer and “Father of Our National Parks System” John Muir. The forest is home to over 2,000 towering sequoia trees, featuring stunning red-orange bark and branches as thick as tree trunks.
The sheer size of the Giant Forest is sure to take your breath away. In it, you can find five of the 10 largest living trees on the planet. This includes the General Sherman Tree, which is the world’s largest living tree by volume as well as the largest organism alive today. At 2,200 years old, it is 275 feet tall and over 36 feet in diameter at the base.
