Viroi Park is a cap­ti­vat­ing nat­ur­al attrac­tion locat­ed near the city of Gjirokas­tra. It can be eas­i­ly spot­ted from the Tepe­lenë-Gjirokas­­tra road, which serves as the entrance to Gjirokas­tra. Viroi is a remark­able karst water source that expe­ri­ences con­sid­er­able changes in water lev­el: it is filled with water dur­ing win­ter and spring yet dries up in sum­mer due to an under­ground siphon phe­nom­e­non where ground­wa­ter col­lects in an unseen reser­voir below the source. The actu­al cave stands 6–8 meters long, 3–4 meters wide, and has a depth of up to 22 meters. The tem­per­a­ture of the water ranges from 13–14 degrees Cel­sius. The sur­round­ing nature of Viroi Park is lux­u­ri­ant and beau­ti­ful; with bloom­ing trees, shrubs, and oth­er veg­e­ta­tion that makes for a serene atmos­phere ide­al for relax­ation. Vis­i­tors can enjoy cof­fee or lunch at near­by estab­lish­ments or take leisure­ly bike rides around the park area – an activ­i­ty that is high­ly rec­om­mend­ed due to its pic­turesque views.
