During the battles for Murmansk in 1941, the most fierce fighting took place in this place.
Description:
The defenders of the Arctic held the defense of this line for several months, thanks to which the offensive operation of the German army on Murmansk failed. The battles were so bloody that for a long time the valley was known as the “Valley of Death”; now more than 7 thousand people are buried here, and many have not yet been found. At the end of the 1950s, the opening of the memorial complex took place, and the valley received its modern name. Thousands of people come to the “Valley of Glory” every year to honor the memory of the defenders of the Arctic who died in battle.
