We are talk­ing about the for­mer res­i­dence of the She­ki khans, built in the city of She­ki at the end of the 18th cen­tu­ry. Despite its rather mod­est size by Khan stan­dards (2 floors, 300 m²), the palace is not with­out sophis­ti­ca­tion, reflect­ed pri­mar­i­ly in the facades. They are almost com­plete­ly cov­ered with pat­terns and paint­ed with draw­ings depict­ing scenes of hunt­ing, war and every­day life. A spe­cial dec­o­ra­tion of the palace of the She­ki khans are stained glass win­dows made of mul­ti-col­ored glass mosaics. It is a gen­er­al­ly accept­ed fact that the She­ki Palace is one of the most beau­ti­ful in the Cau­ca­sus, and there­fore a vis­it to it is a must for all fans of ancient ori­en­tal archi­tec­ture.
