Who is buried here is also a mys­tery, but most researchers agree that the mau­soleum is ded­i­cat­ed to a cer­tain Khos­row, who died at the hands of the Mon­gols at the end of the 14th cen­tu­ry. Dur­ing the Sovi­et years, the mon­u­ment fell into dis­re­pair and turned into ruins, which began to be restored only in 2010. A huge archi­tec­tur­al com­plex was built around it, and the orig­i­nal mau­soleum of Imam-zadeh was hid­den under the dome of the cen­tral build­ing.
