It refers to a natural landscape in Xinjiang shaped by wind and water erosion, with rock formations resembling castles and towers. The name comes from the howling wind sounds that resemble “voices”. “山” means “mountain”. Together it can be translated as “Devil’s Mountain” or “mountain in the Devil’s City”, depending on the context. A natural attraction on Mount Radan in southern Serbia, 27 km southeast of the city of Kursumlija. The formation consists of 202 stone pillars from 2 to 15 m high with an average diameter of 1 m, on top of which there are stone blocks weighing up to 100 kg.
