Inau­gu­rat­ed in 1995 and locat­ed today in the new Gods­ba­nen cul­tur­al cen­tre, Teater Kat­a­pult is prob­a­bly the largest alter­na­tive the­ater in Aarhus. The focus here is on fer­til­iz­ing, stim­u­lat­ing and nur­tur­ing the local scene in Aarhus, “cat­a­pult­ing” new tal­ents and projects of a more off­beat bent into the lime­light. Sev­er­al plays are put on month­ly, most­ly with time­ly themes explored from a local per­spec­tive and pre­sent­ed so as to stim­u­late debate.
