The longest cave in Sakhalin deserves attention and a visit. It’s not difficult to find – the entrance is located on Mount Vaida at an altitude of 700 meters. The cave itself is multi-tiered, its halls are “decorated” with stalactites and stalagmites. Droplets of water have created bizarre sculptures for many thousands of years. Thus, on the middle tier, the fused formations resemble a giant cake. The cave has many branches, narrow passages, wells – it is not recommended for unprepared tourists to climb here. The best time to visit is August and September. In winter, the entrance to the cave is often blocked with snow.
