The beau­ti­ful church, built in the pre-Romanesque style, is one of the old­est archi­tec­tur­al struc­tures in this small coun­try. Exter­nal­ly, this amaz­ing tem­ple has a rather ascetic appear­ance, that is, it is dis­tin­guished by min­i­mal dec­o­ra­tive ele­ments. Gray stone and a min­i­mum of dec­o­ra­tions were used in the con­struc­tion of the San­ta Colo­ma Church. Like most archi­tec­tur­al struc­tures of that time, the tem­ple looks more like a small well-for­ti­­fied cas­tle than a church. An inter­est­ing four-sto­ry bell tow­er adjoins the side of the monastery. Its main fea­ture is a round, not a quad­ran­gu­lar base, so the bell tow­er strong­ly resem­bles a watch­tow­er of a medieval fortress. The bell tow­er has four ver­ti­cal rows of nar­row arched win­­dows-open­ings. The widest ones are locat­ed on the upper floors of the build­ing, and the nar­row­est ones are at the bot­tom. The bell tow­er is dec­o­rat­ed with a con­i­cal roof.
