The Mount Gay Vis­i­tor Cen­tre is a must for rum lovers. The dis­tillery was found­ed in 1703 and has been pro­duc­ing rum on the island for over 300 years. Their rum is made from a mix­ture of molasses and water, which is fil­tered through coral and then aged in oak bar­rels. Tours of the dis­tillery cen­tre allow you to learn about its his­to­ry, see how the spir­its are made and sam­ple them in the tast­ing room.
