Description:
Located about 10 km southeast of Curaçao’s coast, the island is a tropical paradise with white sand, turquoise water, and an abandoned lighthouse. It was once used as a quarantine zone for slaves and later for phosphate mining. Today it’s a popular spot for snorkeling, diving, and beach relaxation.
Facts:
The island covers 1.7 km². It features a 1913 lighthouse, several shipwrecks including the Maria Bianca Guidesman tanker, and sea turtle nesting sites.
