One of the most unusu­al mar­kets in the world is the dream of magi­cians and medi­ums of all stripes. The place, if not mys­ti­cal, then def­i­nite­ly atmos­pher­ic, sat­u­rat­ed with many leg­ends. Most tourists vis­it the witch mar­ket just out of curios­i­ty. Where else can you see bizarre rit­u­al objects, masks, dried snakes, spi­der legs and rare herbs? Local sor­cer­ers — bruho — can tell for­tunes, cleanse the aura and “cure” ail­ments. The Mex­i­cans often drop into the mar­ket — they take sor­cer­ers quite seri­ous­ly.
