The mau­soleum is locat­ed in a pic­turesque place, sur­round­ed by pink, green­ish, red­dish moun­tains of amaz­ing shape and beau­ty. On these lands, Turk­men war­riors coura­geous­ly defend­ed them­selves from the troops of the Khi­va Khan, defend­ing their inde­pen­dence. A vis­it to the holy place — the ceme­tery of Gozli-Ata and the grave of the leg­endary founder of Turk­­men-ata is a good sign. At the mau­soleum and the tomb of the saint, reli­gious rites are held, leg­ends about the great com­man­der, whose name this place is named, are heard. Gozli-ata, or Uzynkhasan — a mys­ti­cal per­son­al­i­ty and spir­i­tu­al leader of the Balkan Turk­men tribes in the Mid­dle Ages. At the age of 102, the sage unit­ed the Turk­men tribes to fight the army of the Khi­va Sufi­an Khan. This hap­pened in the 20s of the 16th cen­tu­ry. There is a salt water well next to the park­ing lot.
