Description:
The quarry sits on former peat bogs, industrially mined for amber-bearing strata since 1951. Vivid orange banks and benches carve through tailings ponds and an almost 2 km-long pit. Rail spurs, ore chutes and concrete flumes remain around the rim. Today, guided platforms offer panoramic views of the pit, processing ponds and colorful spoil heaps.
