Description:
Zimbabwe’s largest national park, covering 15,000 square kilometers, is a popular safari destination. The park is home to the Big Five (though rhinos are rarely seen) and very large herds of buffalo and elephants. In fact, Hwange is home to the second-largest elephant population in Africa (Chobe in Botswana ranks first). Lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, roan antelope, and sable antelope are often spotted. Night trips can be very rewarding, as you might spot aardvarks, aardvarks, and pangolins. The park boasts teak and mopane forests, granite hills, and salt pans. There is an airstrip and a good road network. Accommodations range from luxury lodges to camps offering chalets. Victoria Falls is located nearby.
