Form­ing a bridge between the two con­ti­nents of the New World, Darien Nation­al Park con­tains an excep­tion­al vari­ety of habi­tats — sandy beach­es, rocky coasts, man­groves, swamps, and low­land and upland trop­i­cal forests con­tain­ing remark­able wildlife. Two Indi­an tribes live in the park.
