The sec­ond tourist cen­ter of South Korea after Seoul. It is spread out on the spurs of the Tae­baek­san moun­tain range, all its attrac­tions are scat­tered around the city. There­fore, it seems to me that it is dif­fi­cult to see the sights there on your own with­out a car or it takes quite a lot of time. The first men­tion of the city dates back to 57 BC. The Gyeongju His­toric Areas con­tain a remark­able con­cen­tra­tion of out­stand­ing exam­ples of Kore­an Bud­dhist art, in the form of sculp­tures, reliefs, pago­das, and the remains of tem­ples and palaces from the flow­er­ing, in par­tic­u­lar between the 7th and 10th cen­turies, of this form of unique artis­tic expres­sion.
