Locat­ed on the south­west­ern cor­ner of Texas, with­in the Chi­huahuan Desert, is an extra­or­di­nary moun­tain range that is a haven for hik­ers, back­pack­ers, and out­door enthu­si­asts. This is one of the most remote parks in the low­er 48 states, so crowd lev­els tend to be low all year round. But even when it is at its busiest, Big Bend feels rather qui­et.
