Описание:
Solitude Palace is a Rococo castle and hunting retreat commissioned by Charles Eugen, Duke of Württemberg. It was designed by Johann Friedrich Weyhing and Philippe de La Guepierre and was built from 1764 to 1769.
The palace is located on an elongated ridge between the cities of Leonberg, Gerlingen and Stuttgart in Baden-Württemberg. In the 20th century, Solitude was abandoned, the gardens fell into disrepair and Nicolas Guibal’s ceiling frescoes were largely destroyed by water damage. During the war, the palace was used as a military hospital.
