Карстовые пещеры с залами и натёчными образованиями.
Описание:
The caves have a long system of labyrinthine passages — over 11.7 km. They owe their name to the nearby village of Vorontsovka. Although the caves have been known for over a hundred years, large-scale research began only in the mid-20th century. Tourists are led underground along a safe, illuminated route, which can be easily walked at a leisurely pace in 40 minutes. The nature near the caves is very picturesque. At altitudes of 400–700 m above sea level, beeches, oaks, chestnuts, blackberries, rose hips, Caucasian cherry laurel and relict boxwood grow on the mountain slopes. Three interconnected caves (Kabanya, Vorontsovskaya and Labirintovaya) with a total length of 11 km and an altitude difference of 240 meters. This is one of the largest cave systems in the Caucasus. The caves were named in honor of the tsar’s viceroy in 1905–1915. I. I. Vorontsova-Dashkova. Already on the approach to the caves the area is very beautiful — beech forests, rocky outcrops, panoramic views of the mountains. Entrance to the caves is only with a guided tour. You can visit three of the six halls, each of them is huge.
