The Achin­sk parish of the Moth­er of God-Kazan Church was opened in 1829. sep­a­ra­tion from the parish of the Achin­sk Trin­i­ty Cathe­dral. The parish, in addi­tion to part of the city of Achin­sk, includ­ed two vil­lages: Mazul in the 2.5th cen­tu­ry. from the city and Karlov­ka in the 8th cen­tu­ry. The first vil­lage has exist­ed for more than 100 years, the sec­ond was found­ed in 1895. There is only one church in the parish, a stone one, built in 1830. There are three thrones in it: the main one in hon­or of the Kazan Icon of the Moth­er of God, the right one in hon­or of the glo­ry of the Ascen­sion of the Lord, the left one in the name of the Great Mar­tyr and Vic­to­ri­ous George. The church library con­sists of 538 vol­umes. The church chron­i­cle has been kept since 1867. Dur­ing the Great Patri­ot­ic War, grain was stored in a closed church. In 1946, believ­ers turned to the author­i­ties with a request to open a tem­ple. Sig­na­tures were col­lect­ed and per­mis­sion was obtained. The con­se­cra­tion of the tem­ple was per­formed by Met­ro­pol­i­tan Bartholomew (Gorodtsov). The first ser­vice took place on Decem­ber 19, 1946, on the day of remem­brance of St. Nicholas the Won­der­work­er.
