The meet­ing point of one of the lead­ing oppo­si­tions against the GDR regime and is a great Neogoth­ic church. Also the only ecu­meni­cal Lord’s sup­per with Protes­tants and Catholics togeth­er took place in the Geth­se­manekirche (2003).
