This attrac­tive Chi­nese Gate marks the entrance to an old­er, south­ern sec­tion of Chi­na­town, that extends east to Jasper Avenue. This sec­tion of Chi­na­town has a few Chi­nese insti­tu­tion­al build­ings with Chi­nese orna­men­ta­tion, but hard­ly any eater­ies. The area may be dis­rupt­ed by the con­struc­tion of a light rail line to open in 2020.
