This modern financial district is located on the Avenue Castellana (formerly Avenue Generalissimo Franco) and is similar to the Parisian district of La Defense. The Picasso Tower on the square of the same name, 157 m high, has become one of the symbols of modern Madrid. The architect of the skyscraper is Minoru Yamasaki – the author of the destroyed buildings of the World Trade Center in New York.
