The Viru bog tourist area is locat­ed in Lahe­maa Nation­al Park. It is locat­ed on the way from Tallinn to Lok­sa. The local study trail is a closed cir­cle 3.5 kilo­me­ters long. The route intro­duces peo­ple to the typ­i­cal Eston­ian raised bog and the veg­e­ta­tion char­ac­ter­is­tic of such areas. Viru bog is suit­able for vis­it­ing at any time of the year.
