Description:
It was established to protect the undisturbed northern taiga Okhotsk mountain landscapes, as well as coastal ecosystems on the northern coast of the Sea of Okhotsk. The maximum height is 1500 m. It includes 4 remote, hard-to-reach areas that differ in relief, climate, flora and fauna. The area of the reserve is 8838 km². There are many small rivers, lakes and swamps in the reserve. More than half of the territory is covered by forests. The main forest-forming species is Dahurian larch.
Образован с целью охраны ненарушенных северотаёжных приохотских горных ландшафтов, а также прибрежных экосистем на северном побережье Охотского моря. Максимальная высота 1500 м. Включает 4 удалённых друг от друга труднодоступных участка, различающихся по рельефу, климатическим условиям, флоре и фауне. Площадь заповедника — 8838 км². В заповеднике много мелких рек, озёр и болот. Более половины территории занято лесами. Основная лесообразующая порода — лиственница даурская.
