Description:
A monument in honor of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. Previously, there was a monument to Stalin here, which was replaced by a figure of a woman with a sword, menacingly looking towards the Turkish border. The pedestal resembles the Church of St. Chrypsime in Echmiadzin – a rather bold decision during the years of state atheism. The pedestal houses the Defense Ministry Museum, and one of the best views of the city center opens up from its foot.
Монумент в честь победы в Великой Отечественной войне. Раньше здесь стоял памятник Сталину, на смену которому пришла фигура женщины с мечом, грозно смотрящая в сторону турецкой границы. Постамент имеет сходство с церковью св. Хрипсиме в Эчмиадзине – довольно смелое решение в годы государственного атеизма. В постаменте расположен музей министерства обороны, от его подножия открывается один из лучших видов на центр города.
