The territory of the reserve is part of the tundra landscape zone of Northern Yakutia. According to the physiographic zoning scheme, the territory of the reserve belongs to the subregion of the Kolyma-Anabar coastal lowland tundra of the coastal continental lowlands and islands of the North Siberian lowland physiographic province. The location of the Ust-Lena Reserve is characterized in more detail by the scheme of geomorphological zoning of Northern Yakutia, proposed by B.G. Agapitov (1960); The “Deltovy” section is allocated as an independent region of the river delta.
