Description:
The newly built fountain in the central square symbolizes an ancient legend, which no self-respecting city can do without. The names Polyud and Vetlan are associated with mythical heroes who quarreled over the beautiful girl Vishera, as a result of which both heroes turned into rocks, and the girl, out of grief, threw herself between them and became a river. It is curious that in Cherdyn, where there is a Polyudov trace on the bank of the Kolva, this hero is considered to have gone to sleep in a stone mountain, while the other two characters are unknown to the Cherdyn residents, since they are simply not visible from there.
