The Trea­sury Muse­um is housed in a build­ing built in 1851 by archi­tect Kon­stan­tin Ton. The col­lec­tion is based on pre­cious items that had been kept in the roy­al trea­sury and the patri­ar­chal sac­risty for cen­turies. The muse­um owes its name to one of the old­est Krem­lin trea­suries. Var­i­ous pre­cious items cre­at­ed in the Krem­lin forges and work­shops, as well as gifts from for­eign ambas­sadors, are also on dis­play. A world-famous trea­sury muse­um.
