Barde­jov is a small but excep­tion­al­ly com­plete and well-pre­served exam­ple of a for­ti­fied medieval town, which typ­i­fies the urban­i­sa­tion in this region. Among oth­er remark­able fea­tures, it also con­tains a small Jew­ish quar­ter around a fine 18th-cen­­tu­ry syn­a­gogue.
