Description:
The most famous museum in the world, entirely dedicated to the Islamic Holy Scripture. It houses ancient manuscripts and first printed editions of the Koran, collected from all over the world.
Some of the exhibits in the museum date back to the 7th century, i.e. the period when Islam began to spread. Most of the exhibited copies of the Koran are real works of art, with incredibly beautiful calligraphy. Miniature exhibits deserve special mention – grains of rice and peas, on which suras from the Koran are written.
The building of the House of the Koran itself, built in 1990, is also of interest. It is designed in the architectural style typical of Islam and outwardly resembles a mosque with a minaret, on the walls of which suras from the Koran are carved.
