The most famous muse­um in the world, entire­ly ded­i­cat­ed to the Islam­ic Holy Scrip­ture. It hous­es ancient man­u­scripts and first print­ed edi­tions of the Koran, col­lect­ed from all over the world.

Some of the exhibits in the muse­um date back to the 7th cen­tu­ry, i.e. the peri­od when Islam began to spread. Most of the exhib­it­ed copies of the Koran are real works of art, with incred­i­bly beau­ti­ful cal­lig­ra­phy. Minia­ture exhibits deserve spe­cial men­tion — grains of rice and peas, on which suras from the Koran are writ­ten.

The build­ing of the House of the Koran itself, built in 1990, is also of inter­est. It is designed in the archi­tec­tur­al style typ­i­cal of Islam and out­ward­ly resem­bles a mosque with a minaret, on the walls of which suras from the Koran are carved.
