Description:
Bibi-Heybat Mosque is a real pearl of Baku, Azerbaijan. This shrine is located at the entrance to the city and was restored after destruction. You can look forward to breathtaking Islamic architecture, inscriptions and beautiful views of the Caspian Sea. You can also visit it to participate in a prayer ceremony. Bibi-Heybat was built at the end of the 20th century on the site of a previously destroyed mosque of the same name from the 13th century. The original structure existed successfully for many years, being a place of pilgrimage for believers from remote regions of the Caucasus. During this time, Bibi-Heybat was repeatedly rebuilt and expanded, having acquired an established architectural appearance by the 19th century. With the advent of Soviet power, a struggle against religion began, which is why the mosque was destroyed in 1936 by a series of powerful explosions.
