The nat­ur­al Bulu­us glac­i­er is a lake that is fed by many under­ground sources of pure spring water. From the Yakut lan­guage the word “Bulu­us” is trans­lat­ed as “Glac­i­er”. Thanks to the con­stant influx of cold water, the springs sim­ply do not have time to freeze even on the hottest days of the Yakut sum­mer. Grad­u­al­ly, blocks of ice grow around them. The num­ber of ice mass­es is so huge that the ice remains all sum­mer.
