Description:

The Bushiribana Gold Mill Ruins which was once a gold production facility is now a popular sight seeing spot. This former gold mill is a historic remnant of the island of Aruba when there was a gold rush. This started in the year 1824 and the mill is still intact after almost 200 years of existence. The gold business ran until 1916, with the island producing an equivalent of 3 million pounds of gold or more. This gold smelting era is reflected in Aruba’s historical name which when roughly translated means: “There was Gold”. At this historic site, you are still be able to walk, view, and experience the windswept stone ruins that stand in the middle of the untouched land.
