Description:

En Ру

The lake in the form of a lagoon is connected by a channel to Aniva Bay in the Sea of Okhotsk. This place is a storehouse of natural gifts. The lagoon received its name in honor of the first chief of Sakhalin Island, Nikolai Busse. During the years of Japanese occupation it was called Tobuchi. The Busse Lagoon is separated from the sea by a sand spit, and they are connected by the Suslov Passage, so the water in the lagoon itself is brackish. Busse is a gastronomic paradise for connoisseurs of fresh seafood. During low tide, tourists and island residents collect a variety of shellfish here, and then arrange luxurious picnics in the fresh air from the catch.
