Description:
A large fresh thermokarst lake in the north of Yakutia (Ust-Yansky region). The lake is located in the north of the Yana-Indigirka Lowland on the coast of the Laptev Sea. Bustakh has a thermokarst formation, that is, the reservoir appeared as a result of soil subsidence due to the melting of underground ice. These types of lakes are sensitive to climate change and play an important role in the carbon cycle. Fishing on Lake Bustakh is very popular due to the incredible variety of fish that live here. So, here you can catch pike, perch, char, muksun, grayling, peled, tugun, smallmouth smelt, etc. Fishing is carried out here both from the banks and from a boat.
