Stone tow­ers, sheer cliffs, moun­tain streams and for­ti­fied hous­es stand­ing on a steep slope. This is the whole Dart­lo — one of the most col­or­ful vil­lages of Tusheti. It is locat­ed on the pic­turesque alpine slopes of the Cau­ca­sus Moun­tains at an alti­tude of 2000 meters. The riv­er Piriki­tel­skaya Alazani mur­murs near­by. Foamy water­falls are vis­i­ble from the win­dows of hous­es. Cows graze in the mead­ows. And the locals pre­pare deli­cious cheese from milk, which smells like all the moun­tain flow­ers. Here is peace and qui­et. Nobody is in a hur­ry. Time seems to freeze.
