Description:
The house was built according to the design of the architect Stanislav Khomich, for his family to live in. The architect came to Tomsk in the 1890s, and in 1891 he became a junior architect at the Tomsk City Council. Initially, he designed city prisons. Five years later, he was promoted and temporarily served as the provincial architect. In 1898, he officially took office. He worked as a provincial engineer and diocesan architect, and was involved in private design. The architect spent 50 thousand rubles on the construction of the building. The land plot was given to the architect’s wife, the daughter of a state councilor, by her parents in 1903. Since the mansion had large areas, part of the building was rented out as private apartments. In 1914, Khomich was accused of corruption. After that, the architect wrote a letter of resignation and left Tomsk.
