One of the oldest civil buildings in Moscow. Built in 1487–1491 by order of Ivan III by Italian architects Mark Fryazin and Pietro Antonio Solari.

It is one of the representative halls at the Residence of the President of the Russian Federation. It hosts meetings of heads of state, award ceremonies and other state events.

The building has two floors. The upper floor is occupied by a square throne room with an area of ​​495 sq. m., covered with four cross vaults resting on the central pillar, the lower floor is a basement. The Holy Vestibule adjoins the hall from the west.

The name of the chamber comes from the architectural design of the main eastern facade facing Cathedral Square. It is faced with white stone blocks, each of which is hewn into four faces.
