Glen Canyon has had inhabitants for thousands of years – prehistoric and archaic Native American cultures lived and roamed there. In later years, the area was populated by miners, explorers, ranchers, all of whom have left their mark on the canyon.
The Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is spread over 1.25 million scenic acres and is famous for being full of geological wonders and stunning scenery. In the 561-foot-deep canyon, you can see Defiance House, which was home to prehistoric tribes. While at the canyon, you can also enjoy outdoor activities at Lake Powell.
