It is more correct to call Gremi not a castle, but a fortress, although the term “castle” is used for it more often. Gremi is probably the second most famous fortress in Georgia after Ananuri, and is rightfully considered the hallmark of the Kakheti region. The fortress is located 175 km from the capital of Georgia, between the cities of Telavi and Kvareli, in the heart of the wine region.

Греми, наверное, вторая после Ананури самая известная крепость Грузии, и по праву считается визитной картой региона Кахетии. Крепость находится в 175 км от столицы Грузии, между городами Телави и Кварели, в самом сердце винного края.
