You might not believe your eyes when you see this one! But it’s exact­ly what you think: a shark embed­ded in the roof of a house… Bill Heine asked his sculp­tor friend John Buck­ley to cre­ate this work to protest against the use of nuclear pow­er after the attacks in Japan and the Cher­nobyl acci­dent. The local author­i­ties gave Heine a hard time at first as he did not have a per­mit for this instal­ment, but in the end the eight-meter, 200 kilo shark man­aged to stay in place and become a tourist attrac­tion and mon­u­ment against pol­lu­tion and nuclear ener­gy.
