The Japan Mon­key Cen­tre was found­ed in 1956 for pri­mate research and con­ser­va­tion. Its oth­er main goal is to give all inter­est­ed peo­ple a wealth of infor­ma­tion on their clos­est rel­a­tives. The Japan Mon­key Cen­tre runs a unique zoo hous­ing the world’s largest num­ber of non­hu­man pri­mate species and attracts vis­i­tors from all over the world.
