Description:
A 1200 year old water tank nestled in the forest at the foot of the hills behind. This place is quite unknown and is a little hidden gem. Its name is a combination of two words: karpur, meaning camphor, and baoli, meaning water tank. It was named so because of the camphor smell of the water and its supposed medicinal properties. The building stands dilapidated with corridors on three sides leading to the garbagriha where the idol of worship once stood. Karpur Baoli is dedicated to six goddesses: Chamunda, Bhairavi, Ingalai, Kali, Ranchandhi and Kapurta.
