A 1200 year old water tank nes­tled in the for­est at the foot of the hills behind. This place is quite unknown and is a lit­tle hid­den gem. Its name is a com­bi­na­tion of two words: karpur, mean­ing cam­phor, and baoli, mean­ing water tank. It was named so because of the cam­phor smell of the water and its sup­posed med­i­c­i­nal prop­er­ties. The build­ing stands dilap­i­dat­ed with cor­ri­dors on three sides lead­ing to the garba­gri­ha where the idol of wor­ship once stood. Karpur Baoli is ded­i­cat­ed to six god­dess­es: Chamun­da, Bhairavi, Ingalai, Kali, Ran­chand­hi and Kapur­ta.
