The largest and deepest lake in the North Caucasus, located on the border of the Vedeno region of the Chechen Republic and the Botlikh region of Dagestan, on the southern slope of the Andean ridge. It is located at an altitude of 1854 meters above sea level, the area of ​​the lake is 2.4 km², the maximum depth is 74 meters. The water temperature in the lake does not rise above 17 degrees.

For its extraordinary beauty, residents of Chechnya call the lake the “Pearl of the Caucasus.” One of the attractions of the reservoir is the Eisenam trout; listed in the Red Book of Russia.

Lake Kezenoy-Am is a dam lake, which means that it arose as a result of blocking the beds of mountain rivers. The valley of the small rivers Kharsum and Kauha was blocked after the collapse, and this led to the formation of a reservoir. Lake Kezenoy-Am has no drainage on the surface; the water leaves through the surrounding limestone rocks.
