Description:
Natural monument. It owes its name to Captain D.I. Kuznetsov, who commanded a detachment of ships guarding the Russian borders in 1857 in the Far East. The cape is located on the southwestern coast of the Crillon Peninsula. This is a plateau-like surface with steep banks. The cape is notable for the fact that here is the only year-round rookery of Red Book Steller sea lions and ringed seals on the island. Groups of these sea animals can be seen from afar, they behave quite noisily, emerging, making loud exhalations and raising jets of spray, it is always interesting to watch them frolic in the water. At the edge of the cliff of Cape Kuznetsov there is an abandoned lighthouse built by the Japanese in 1914, which is of historical value.
Памятник природы. Своим названием своим он обязан капитану Д. И. Кузнецову, который командовал отрядом судов, охранявшим российские границы в 1857 г. на Дальнем Востоке. Мыс находится на юго-западном побережье полуострова Крильон. Это платообразная поверхность с обрывистыми берегами. Мыс примечателен тем, что здесь находится единственное на острове круглогодичное лежбище краснокнижных сивучей и нерп. Группы этих морских зверей видно издалека, ведут они себя довольно шумно, выныривая, издают громкие выдохи и поднимают струи брызг, наблюдать за тем, как они резвятся в воде всегда интересно. У края обрыва мыса Кузнецова расположился заброшенный, построенный ещё Японцами в 1914 году маяк, представляющий историческую ценность.
