XIV-XV cen­turies. Among the peo­ple there are such ref­er­ences to the mosque — in the Oguz-Kipchak peri­od, the mosque was used as a car­a­vanserai, lat­er as a mosque-madrasah. The mosque is a mul­ti-cham­ber struc­ture of sev­er­al large and small rooms, inter­con­nect­ed by arched pas­sages. The walls of the mosque are built of semi-fin­ished stones with the use of clay mor­tar, using the method of inclined “oblique” mason­ry (seis­mic-resis­­tant). Judg­ing by the destroyed sec­tions, it can be assumed that ini­tial­ly there were domed ceil­ings in the mul­ti-cham­ber struc­ture.

A descen­dant of Imam Hus­sein, the holy Mak­­tum-baba came to Mangysh­lak from Per­sia, where the Kurekal Turk­mens lived, after some time a sig­nif­i­cant num­ber of murids joined him, and at that time not a sin­gle tree grew in the Khanga area. Once the murids came to Mak­­tum-baba and asked him for per­mis­sion to take a walk in the gar­den. To which he said to them: “Today do not go any­where, if you do not find gar­dens near­by by tomor­row, then I will let you go there.” The Murids lis­tened to him and stayed, and the next day, ear­ly in the morn­ing, they saw that the entire near­by moun­tain was cov­ered with excel­lent trees with many fruits. Fas­ci­nat­ed by this spec­ta­cle and sur­prised by the mir­a­cle that had tak­en place, they came to Mak­tum Baba and fell at his feet, repent­ing of their sins. After that, the num­ber of murids of Mak­­tum-baba began to increase and reached sev­er­al thou­sand. After the death of Mak­tum Baba, the gar­dens that were not looked after by any­one began to be destroyed, so far only a few mul­ber­ry trees have sur­vived from them.
